Bullish pa rin! Consunji sisters buy more Semirara stock despite coal prices cooling down

Consunji siblings – Josefa Consuelo Reyes and Cristina Gotianun – snapped up a total of P6.9 million shares of Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SCC).

SCC director Reyes bought 110,000 shares at P34.85 per share on January 12.

SCC president and COO Gotianun scooped up 89,000 shares at a price range of P33.75 to P33.80 on January 17.

Reyes’ stake increased to 9.175 million shares worth P310 million. Gotianun’s holdings rose to 23.3 million shares worth P783 million.

SCC has slipped by more than 20 percent after hitting a five-year high of P44.40 in August 2022 as demand for coal simmered down and supplies improved.

SCC booked record profits and declared hefty dividends in 2022 as coal prices more than doubled due to the Ukraine war and supply disruptions.
