Sean Ramos struggled early but still managed to score a four-over-par 74 to slide down in the standings midway through the Asian Tour Qualifying School Section D held at the Thana City Country Club in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ramos is now 11 shots behind leader Korean Baekjun Kim, who played with a six-under 64 for 129 total.
Unlike the first day, Ramos dropped two strokes on No. 3, a par-3 hole, and another on the fourth to finish the outward nine with a 39.
He had back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 10 and 11 before calming down with a stroke at No. 14, his only birdie for the day.
Ramos needs a strong wind up in the next 36 to hop onto the bus for the harder five-stage eliminations for the Final Qualifying at the Lakeview Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin. “Bawi tayo bukas (I will have a better game tomorrow),” said Ramos.
