BDO returns P140K lost by client in unauthorized transactions

All is well again for a BDO Unibank client who lost P140,000 due to unauthorized transactions made overseas.

Two days after lawyer Ross Tugade’s Twitter complaint, the bank owned by the bilyonaryo Sy-blings quickly responded by returning the amount in full.

Tugade discovered over the weekend that her account had been deducted several times for point-of-sale card swipes in China, Australia and Turkey even when she isn’t there, nor did she have a debit card linked to her account in the first place.

“BDO has returned the full amount to my account,” she said Tuesday after her post went viral.

Tugade added that the bank has been communicating with her since Monday.
