Each culture has a unique food to enjoy during the holidays and the Philippines’ very own lechon made it to the Taste Atlas list of Christmas food celebrated in the world
The roasted pig is well known across the country as a centrepiece for feasts and celebrations of Filipinos and is associated with togetherness and happy times.
Meanwhile, KFC also made it to the list of holiday food enjoyed by people in the world. It was attributed to Japan since the Japanese people adopted the tradition of celebrating the holidays with fried chicken as a counterpart to roast turkey in the west.
The tradition reportedly stemmed from a foreigner who once said that he was celebrating Thanksgiving with a bucket of fried chicken since he could not get turkey in Japan.
