Four men broke into a Puregold supermarket in Laguna on Christmas Day and stole cash from an automated teller machine (ATM) owned by Metrobank.
According to a report by The Philippine Star, employees of the Puregold outlet in Barangay Balibago in Sta. Rosa discovered the Metrobank-owned ATM out of place when the store reopened Monday (December 26).
Initial reports said the robbers got away with P300,000 cash from the machine. They escaped by knocking off a portion of the wall.
Security guards at the grocery said the store’s alarm system was defective.
