Ayala Malls take the lead in energy efficiency

Ayala Malls dominated the recently concluded 2022 DOE Energy Efficiency Excellence (EEE) Awards by bagging 11 out of the 13 total awards (out of 121 finalists) for the energy management for industries and buildings category.

The Department of Energy announced the 2022 EEE awardees where 24 out of 327 entries from the private and government entities were recognized for their exceptional implementation of energy efficiency programs and conservation best practices.

These 24 entities covering the industrial, commercial, and government establishments generated total savings of 36.94 million kilowatt hours of electricity, 60,912.55 liters of diesel, and 44,059 liters of gasoline, respectively.

The EEE Awards is an annual event of the DOE in recognition of the outstanding achievements and best practices of the buildings, industries, groups, individuals, and the government sector in implementing EEC in their respective facilities.

For the EEE Awards for government, its sub-categories include national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, state universities and colleges, and a special award for government.

For the Energy Management for Industries and Buildings category, the recipients were. Circuit Corporate Center One, Robinsons Place Gensan, and North Triangle Depot Commercial Corp. or Trinoma received the highest ratings of 86.7 percent, 85.33 percent, and 85.17 percent, respectively.

These establishments garnered combined energy savings equivalent to 16.69 million kilowatthours.

Meanwhile, Serendra Retail, CBP Tech Tower, and Glorietta Corporate Center Two received ratings of 91.33 percent, 90 percent and 87 percent, respectively, for the small and medium building sub-category.

They earned combined energy savings of 2,396,477.40 kilowatthours.

Ayala Center Cebu District Cooling System Plant, Canon Business Machines (Philippines) Inc., and Ayala Center Makati District Cooling System Plant received ratings of 89.7 percent, 88 percent, and 87 percent, respectively, from the entries under the large industry sub-category.

They had a combined energy savings of 5,954,666.67 kilowatt-hours.

Ayala Malls Central Bloc and Ayala Malls Manila Bay earned ratings of 89 percent and 88 percent, respectively, from the new and existing building sub-category entries.

They had a total combined energy savings of 5.84 million kilowatt-hours.

Meanwhile, Baguio Ayala land Technohub and Ayala Malls Solenad earned ratings of 87.00% and 85.00% from the entries under the tropical building sub-category.

They had a combined energy savings of 4.35 million kilowatt-hours.
