Spectrum, a wholly owned subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. will put up a solar project at the Quezon City campus of Operation Brotherhood (OB) Montessori Center.
It will install a 99-kilowattpeak (kWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) system at OB Montessori Fairview. This will allow the educational institution to generate approximately 132,000 kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year, translating to estimated annual savings of close to P900,000 per annum.
The project marks OB Montessori’s gradual shift to clean energy and signifies its commitment to sustainability.
Through this solar rooftop project, OB Montessori also aims to broaden awareness among its students on ways to help reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
Once the solar project becomes operational, OB Montessori can expect to reduce its carbon footprint by around 94 tonnes, equivalent to planting more than 4,300 trees or reducing around 232,200 miles in vehicle travel per year.
Spectrum offers tailor-fit solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential customers through an in-depth understanding of energy consumption behaviors and strategic partnerships with world-class technology partners.
