Former Energy Secretary Vince Perez’s Alternergy Holdings Corp. has gone global.
Alternergy has invested in a solar project with a battery energy storage system in Palau.
Perez announced Alternergy’s solar investment on his Facebook.
Alternergy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Pililla AVC Corp. (PACO) and Shell Overseas Investment B. V. (Shell), partnered to explore the vast offshore wind potential in the Philippines.
The partnership of Alternergy and Shell obtained a Wind Energy Service Contract (WESC) from the Department of Energy (DoE) to assess the feasibility of an offshore wind project in the windswept Calavite Passage near Mindoro.
Alternergy aims to develop up to 1,370 MW of additional wind, offshore wind, solar, and run-of-river hydro projects in the next five years.
