When Dennis Anthony Uy met Sara Duterte: Converge, DepEd team up for fiber-linked schools

Bilyonaryo Dennis Anthony Uy dreams of connecting more public schools around the country to the internet in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).

But for now, he’s starting small, with Converge providing fiber connectivity to classrooms in San Juan City.

Uy shared his vision for improving the country’s education system along with a snapshot with Vice President and concurrent Education Secretary Sara Duterte on Facebook.

“Now that face-to- face classes are back, CONVERGE is proud to power the city’s schools with pure fiber internet,” Uy said in his post during the launch of smart classrooms in San Juan Tuesday (December 13).

“We hope to be part of more public-private partnerships for education like this. As we always say, digital connectivity is no longer a privilege but a right of everyone,” he added.
