What should have been a towering Christmas icon within Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig became a daytime hazard.
The giant Christmas tree at Uptown Mall in BGC caught fire on Monday, December 12, sending wafts of black smoke at the heart of the Megaworld property.
Photos and videos of the incident showed the Christmas tree, which was built from huge Christmas balls wrapped in lights, engulfed by flames on the fourth floor of the mall.
Firefighters quickly rushed to the scene and put out the fire minutes later, with no reported injuries.
