Rich Pinoys from the south might not need to fly to Manila anymore just to shop for a Louis Vuitton bag.
The hot gossip in the local retail industry is that billionaire Bernard Arnault, owner of the world’s largest luxury fashion group LVMH, is considering putting up a Louis Vuitton store outside Metro Manila.
Our Babbler previously reported that Arnault, who visited the country under the radar, was interested in adding three or four more stores to his two LV branches in the country.
One of the spots being eyed is the NuStar luxury resort in Cebu City built by bilyonaryo Frederick Go’s Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC).
NuStar will have a mall which will assemble 35 luxury fashion shops, top watch and jewelry brands, and world-class restaurants (including Mott 32 of Michelin-awarded Chef Lee Man Sing is now the best Chinese restaurant in the Philippines).
The resort complex – – designed by Hirsch-Bedner Associates (one of the world’s leading hospitality design companies), KS Architects, and PIA Interiors of Thailand – will have a casino (the biggest outside Metro Manila), boardwalk, wharf, skydeck, cinemas, theater, and Aqua Isla Dela Victoria.
Nustar is expected to be fully operational in 2023 after a soft opening early this year.
