Bilyonaryo Alfredo C. Ramos, one of the country’s boldest and visionary businessmen, has died on November 28 at the age of 79.
“His business style and perspective most often transcended the times. His insightful guidance to the company’s management led the company towards resiliency and success. His contributions to the company will forever be remembered,” said Anglo Philippines Holdings, one of his five publicly-listed companies.
The other firms that he led are Atlas Consolidated Mining, Philodrill Corp., United Paragon Mining, Shang Properties.
Ramos helped build National Bookstore, founded by his parents Jose and Socorro Ramos, into the country’s most dominant book and office supply chain for decades. Ramos also formed Anvil Publishing, Power Books and Abacus Book and Card.
Ramos is survived by his mother, Nanay Coring; his wife, Precy, and their children Adrian Paulino, Gerard Anton, and Maureen Alexandra Ramos-Padilla.
