Motorists, including a local politiko, called out the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) for pushing through with toll fee increases despite the poor service it gives.
Cavite Rep. Jolo Revilla led the pushback online as the Cavite Expressway C5 Link announced it is raising toll fees beginning Sunday, November 27.
“Akala ng Lahat Pag May RFID mas bibilis ang ang daloy. Ang nangyari e mas lalo pang bumagal!,” Revilla said in a tweet. “Sana naman iayos nyo muna ang RFID nyo bago kayo magtaas!”

Under the new fee structure, class 1 or the typical vehicles will pay P35 for using the Cavitex link, P69 for class 2 vehicles, and P104 for trucks and buses.
This is a big-time increase coming from old rates of P22, P44, and P66 for classes 1, 2, and 3, respectively. This affects motorists who plying the Merville, Parañaque to Taguig route.
Many agreed with Revilla’s rant.
“Sana bago nila taasan ayusin muna nila yung RFID system nila. Nagtatraffic pa din kasi most of their toll booth hindi agad mabasa yung mga rfid na nakadikit sa mga sasakyan,” Twitter user @jellobeann added.
