Security Bank, together with its CSR arm, Security Bank Foundation (SBFI) partnered with Read to Achieve Foundation Philippines, Inc. (RAFPI) to further its mission of enriching lives through sustaining quality education.
The three organizations recently turned over Alpabasa teaching sets on phonemic awareness, the introduction of print, writing and printing letters, and syllabication and blending, together with the Online Alpabasa Subscriptions as part of the Alpabasa Reading Program to Binan Elementary School under the DepEd Division of Binan City in Laguna.
Alpabasa is a play-based reading competency program that hopes to enrich the reading and writing capabilities of school children from Kinder to Grade 3 through fun and exciting games.
With the vision of “Every Filipino Child, A Reader”, RAFPI has been helping students since July 2021 by equipping teachers and involving parents through innovative learning—various support aids and reading tools.
The materials address the current needs of learners and are distributed via print (classroom setting) and digital means to support the blended learning arrangement of school beneficiaries nationwide.
A two-day seminar for teachers will be conducted in January 2023, with students being able to access the online materials from January 21 to November 21, 2023.
