Gov’t eyes O&M deal for Metro Cebu Expressway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is looking to bid out the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Metro Cebu Expressway by next year.

Public Works Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral expects to project documents to be submitted to NEDA by the first quarter of 2023.

The project, which is expected to cut travel time between Naga City and Consolacion from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes, is estimated to cost about P94.07 billion.

The arterial toll road is seen to serve as another north-south backbone highway providing a seamless traffic flow from Naga City to Danao City.

Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. earlier said it was interested in the Metro Cebu Expressway Project.

CCLEC completed the P33-billion Cebu Cordova Expressway—an 8.5 km. bridge linking Cebu City , the municipality of Cordova and outlying towns of Cebu province.
