Self-styled publicist Lana Faith Johnson is playing the victim card following her release from jail in connection with charges filed by a trusted lieutenant of bilyonaryo heir Victor Consunji.
In an online interview, the public relations director of Victor Consunji Development Corp. (VCDC) denied owing money to any supplier, contrary to her boss’ allegations. Johnson said she can produce documents to prove that she didn’t mishandle the company’s funds.
Lips are sealed: Vic Consunji PR Lana Johnson finally gets out of jail
“No service agreement was signed by me with the obligation to pay any other amount than what was already paid for,” Johnson said, calling all allegations of bouncing checks and unsettled debts fake news.
“In over eight years with the company, I poured my heart and soul into. They have always enforced strict guidelines and process for funds being disbursed and reimbursed,” she added.
Johnson said she has no pending case until the day of her release even if she had to post a P35,000 bail for the complaint of falsification of documents filed by VCDC vice president for construction Bernie Mendoza.
“By association and occupation a lot of misinformation has been circulating for months. I have been subjected to continuous trolling, bashing, even going as far to fabricate alleged messages and chats coming from me,” she lamented.
Johnson was jailed for five days after her arrest in an entrapment operation by the Taguig police on November 8. In the interview, she said she sensed something was amiss when Mendoza insisted on paying her with cash instead of issuing a check.
She is accused of issuing an unauthorized receipt for P82,500 to a client inside Acacia Estates, a residential complex developed by DMCI Homes, the real estate firm owned by Isidro Consunji, Victor’s father.
Former beauty queen Maggie Wilson said she had repeatedly warned her estranged husband about Johnson, but her advice fell on deaf ears.
Actress Denise Laurel claimed she was also victimized by Johnson because she got nothing in exchange for tapping the self-styled PR expert’s services.
