Japan assembled a final day 139 to end with a 552 aggregate to win the Asia Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championships by seven shots over Singapore.

The Philippines, however, finished the tournament at 11th place.

With the victory, Japan now ties Australia with the most number of titles at 10. South Korea (142-560) settled for third place in the biennial event organized by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation through the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP).

Thailand (138-565) and New Zealand (147-566) completed the top five.

The Philippines (149-584), meanwhile, tried its best in the four-day golfest but came up short with its best efforts happening in the first and third rounds.

Elee Bisera from Davao was best scorer with an even par 72 at the difficult Masters layout of Southwoods. Jacob Rolida turned in a 77 for that closing 149. Kristoffer Arevalo’s 80 did not count.
