Swiss cheesemaker tops 4,000 entries to take World Cheese Award crown

If you are a cheese lover, you’d be very interested to know that the World Cheese Awards recently crowned the best cheeses from five continents.

The event, organized by the British Guild of Fine Food, is one of the most prestigious cheese competitions in the world and this year, 4,000 cheeses from over 40 countries were judged by an esteemed panel of experts.

Of all the entries, Vorderfultigen Gourmino Le Gruyère AOP surchoix – Interprofession du Gruyère from Switzerland was judged as the World Champion Cheese for 2022. Among those who received the Super Gold seal were Stoney Cross – Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers, Capra tonka e vermouth, and Gorwydd Caerphilly.

The Bufar Valdres Ost 12 months, Ovni, and Bûchette nature received gold awards while Burt’s Blue Cheese received the silver award. Bijou from Vermont Creamery and Mt. Tam from Cowgirl Creamery received Bronze awards.
