Bruce ends season on a happy note

By Adrian Flores

Samantha Bruce closed out her strong Fall season with a fifth place finish at The Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nevada.

Bruce scored a final round four-under 68 for five-under 211 total for three days.

With it, the Seattle University team captain towed her team to fourth overall behind Nevada, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton as they set program records for best 18 (6 under 282), 36 (10 under 566) and, 54 (1 under 863) hole tournament scores.

Still, the former national team player was far from satisfied with her performance.

“My putting was really off this week. I blew a lot of makeable birdie chances that could have given me a chance to win.” said Sam.

This was her third top five finish in five Fall Season events with a fifth place finish at the Gonzaga Coeur d’ Alene College Invitational and a third place finish at the Boston Collegiate Invitational.
