Jaime Urquijo fills up IMI seat left by uncle Fernando Zobel

The INSEAD-trained son of has bagged his third board seat in publicly-listed Ayala companies.

The 34-year old Jaime Z. Urquijo was named director of Integrated Microelectronics Inc. on October 21.

Urquijo, who also sits as director of Bank of the Philippine Islands and ACE Enexor, replaced his uncle Fernando Zobel de Ayala who was forced to resign last month due to health reasons.

A former Belgian senator, Roland Joseph L. Duchâtelet, was also elected as director to replace bilyonaryo Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala (JAZA) who resigned as IMI chairman as part of the chip maker’s “organizational Restructuring.” Former Energy Secretary and long-time Ayala executive Delfin Lazaro took over as IMI chairman.

JAZA will continue to oversee IMI’s strategy, vision and growth chairman of AC Industrial Technology Holdings, IMI’s parent company, and Ayala Corporation.
