More convenient, safe travel: SM Group set to start construction of 3 Edsa busway bridges

The Sy family will soon start the civil works for the three concourses of the Edsa Busway, which are estimated to cost around P120 million.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said around 300,000 daily commuters are expected to benefit from the concourses which will be built at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, and SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

“The concourse will feature a state of the art facility with concierge, ticketing booths as well as ramps and elevators,” he added.

Bautista said the concourses would urther boost the efficiency of the EDSA Busway, a joint project of the DOTr, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

The EDSA Busway was carried out at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020 to provide seamless movement of high-capacity public utility buses (PUBs).
