Another aginaldo from Sid Consunji: DMCI Holdings approves P9.56B cash bonus for shareholders

The Consunji family is feeling generous.

Consunji conglomerate DMCI Holdings Inc. has approved the distribution of a special cash dividend of P9.56 billion or 72 centavos per share following the record cash bonus from unit Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SCC).

This reflects the Consunji family’s confidence in DMCI’s long-term growth potential and strong balance sheet.

The special cash dividends are payable on November 16 to shareholders on record as of November 2.

This will bring DMCI’s total dividend payout for the year to P15.9 billion, representing 92 percent of the company’s consolidated core earnings for 2021.

Total cash dividends declared for the year will amount to P1.20, up 25 percent from the 96 centavos declared last year. The total payout translates to a cash dividend yield of 11.32 percent based on its October 17 closing price of P10.60.

DMCI Holdings has a dividend policy that commits to a dividend payout ratio of at least 25 percent of the preceding year’s consolidated core net income.

SCC on Monday declared a special cash dividend of P3.50 per share. This will bring the total to P5 per share for the year, the highest in the company’s history.
