The Gokongwei Group has traded the bright blue and yellow colors of Mini Stop for duller hues as it completed the rebranding of its convenience stores into Uncle John’s.
A netizen spotted one of the first Ministop branches to undergo a complete transformation into “Uncle John’s,” named after the family patriarch and JG Group founder John Gokongwei.
Although the color scheme appears the same, the store name doesn’t have the same oomph to it — at least, for now.
“They reversed the colors, so now it looks almost like Cebu Pacific lel,” a Facebook commenter said.
Another made a fearless forecast: “Ito yung itsura ng mga convenience store na hindi tumatagal.”
