Connections matter! Marcos meets Converge founder Dennis Uy, Korean telco execs

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with bilyonaryo Dennis Anthony Uy of Converge ICT Solutions and officials of a Korean telecommunications company on October 14 to discuss how to improve internet connectivity in the Philippines.

The Converge CEO had partnered with Korea’s KT Corporation when it attempted to bid for the third telco slot in 2019, which eventually went to his namesake Dennis Uy’s Dito Telecom.

“Thank you, President @BongbongMarcos, for working with the private sector in pushing for meaningful universal connectivity to narrow down the digital divide and ensure that no one is left behind,” Uy said.

“We remain supportive of your administration’s initiatives for digitalization as we push for digital democracy in the Philippines.”
