Finding ways: Spammers bypass Globe’s ban on clickable links

Spammers have found a way to bypass Globe Telecom’s ban on clickable links so they can still send fraudulent text messages.

Netizens report that fraudsters are now putting spaces between what would have been website links so they can bypass the ban.

Carrier filtering: Globe blocks SMS with clickable links

While the links would no longer be clickable, a gullible recipient could still type the URL on their browser to check the false promise of cash or a job.

Netizens hope the Ayala-owned telco will step up efforts to fight spammers while others say the Manny Pangilinan-owned Smart Telecommunications should follow its rival’s move and block clickable links in text messages.
