Only 2 to go: NGCP seeks gov’t help in restoring power lines hit by Karding

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has sought the government’s help in restoring two transmission lines damaged by Super Typhoon Karding in Nueva Ecija.

According to the power firm owned by bilyonaryos Henry Sy Jr. and Roberto Coyiuto, power has yet to be restored in areas connected to the Cabanatuan-San Rafael 230kV line and Cabanatuan-Bulualto 69kV line.

“There are still 2 lines out, but transmission services to all cooperatives affected have been restored since yesterday afternoon. i.e., if they are ready, all of the cooperatives are able to draw power from the transmission system,” NGCP spokesperson Cynthia Alabanza told reporters.

“The company appeals for the support of the local and national government to expedite the restoration of these lines,” NGCP added in a statement.

All other damaged transmission towers are back online as of Wednesday (September 27).
