Ready to take on more responsibility: Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala joins ACEN board

ACEN Corp., the listed energy platform of the Ayala group, has elected Jaime Alfonso Antonio Zobel de Ayala as director to serve the unexpired term of his dad.

Jaime Alfonso was also appointed as member of the executive committee.

This after ACEN’s board accepted the resignation of Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala as director and vice-chairman of the board effective Sept. 28.

Jaime Alfonso currently heads the business development and innovation units of conglomerate Ayala Corp. He is a director of ACEN’s exploration subsidiary ACE Enexor.

Also appointed were long-time Ayala Corp. non-executive director and former energy secretary Delfin Lazaro and Ayala Corp. president and CEO Cezar Consing, as chairman and vice-chairman of the board and executive committee, respectively.

Lazaro will take the place vacated by Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

Lazaro was Department of Energy chief from 1992 to 1994 and has been non-executive director of Ayala Corp. since January 2007.
