Damage to public infrastructure due to the onslaught of Super Typhoon Karding has so far reached ₱135.09 million, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The DPWH said assessment of damage to roads has reached P34.71 million, bridges at P22.39 million, and flood-control structures at P77.99 million.
In terms of area, the biggest damage to infrastructure was recorded in Region 3 at P91.38 million, followed by the Cordillera Administrative Region with damages worth P19.6 million and Region 6 at P12 million.
DPWH said five national road sections remain closed to traffic namely Kennon Road in Benguet, Cabagan-Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge in Isabela, Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, Baliwag Candaba – Sta.Ana Road, and the Hamtic-Bia-an-Egaña- Sibalom Road.
