NTC has already exceeded its collection goal for the year

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) collected P6.63 billion as of September, already surpassing its full year target of P5.58 billion.

NTC chief Gamaliel A. Cordoba, NTC chief attributed this feat to the agency’s employees who strictly enforced stakeholders’ compliance in remitting spectrum users’ fees, supervision and regulation fees and penalties.

NTC is the government agency that regulates cable and commercial television operators, broadcast radio stations, telecommunications companies and commercial and portable radio operators.

Its collection targets are mandated in the Budget of Expenditures and Sources of Financing, a document required by the Constitution and consolidated by the Department of Budget Management.
