Big Boy Sy-Coyiuto’s NGCP: Power out in parts of Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan after Karding

Super Typhoon Karding has knocked out at least six transmission lines in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Bulacan, causing power outages in these areas, the power firm owned Henry “Big Boy” Sy Jr. and Robert Coyiuto Jr. said.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Monday (September 26) said among the areas affected by the power outage were: Cabanatuan, San Luis, Fatima, San Isidro, and Bulualto in Nueva Ecija; Mexico, Pampanga; and San Rafael, Bulacan.

NGCP said most of the damaged transmission lines in other typhoon-hit areas have been repaired, though power may not yet be fully restored in some communities.

“NGCP has deployed 40 line gangs comprised of over 300 personnel and two choppers to inspect and assess the impact of the typhoon to its operations and facilities,” the firm said.

“Please note that this update pertains only to the status of the transmission network. Localized disturbances may be better addressed by your distribution utility. This also does not include lines connected to industrial customers,” it added.
