CAAP transfers ownership in six airports in BARMM

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has relinquished its ownership in six airports within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

CAAP signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to transfer the ownership, management, and supervision of six airports to the BARMM Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

These airports include Cotabato Airport (Awang) in Cotabato City, Sanga-Sanga Airport in Tawi-Tawi, Jolo Airport in Sulu, Wao Airport in Lanao del Sur, Mapun Airport in Mapun, Tawi-Tawi, and Malabang Airport also in Lanao del Sur.

CAAP said the MOA facilitates the implementation of Republic Act No. 11054, otherwise known as the Bangsamoro Organic Law, which establishes the institution of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

DOE raises RE utilization percentage for on-grid areas

The Department of Energy (DOE) has increased the percentage of the utilization of renewable energy for on-grid areas from one percent to 2.52 percent in line with the administration’s goal of transitioning towards a sustainable and clean energy future.
