Clients of Citi Philippines can still do their banking needs at the bank’s three remaining branches even though they’ll soon be sporting UnionBank’s logo and color.
In a statement, Citi said its branches will be rebranded to UnionBank as part of the latter’s buyout of the global bank’s loan portfolio.
“Notwithstanding this change, rest assured that the same branches in Greenhills, Makati, and Cebu will continue to serve your banking needs as usual. There is no change to the types of transaction that can be done at these branches,” Citi said.
At this stage of the transition, Citi clients are still limited to transacting over-the-counter in their old branches as the synergy with UnionBank’s systems has not been completed. Down the road, all Citibank customers will be allowed to transact at all existing UnionBank branches.
Meanwhile, withdrawals using any ATM nationwide will remain free of charge using a Citi card — a special perk enjoyed by clients for the longest time.
“Our ATMs and Cash Acceptance Machines located in and outside the branches will also be rebranded to UnionBank. The ATMs will continue to have the same functionalities, offer Peso and US Dollar currencies, and will still follow daily withdrawal limit of $3,000 ($5,000 for Citigold) or its Peso equivalent,” Citi added.
