MVP Group upbeat on Cebu; to vie for P94B metro expressway

A subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. remains keen on building the Metro Cebu Expressway under the government’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program.

Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) president and general manager Allan Alfon said they have already signified their interest to pursue the project through a letter submitted to the government.

“There was already a marketing event done by the Department of Public Works and Highways to prospective private investors. They invited Metro Pacific, Prime Infrastructure of Ricky Razon and several others,” Alfonso said.

Estimated to cost P94.07 billion, the 74-kilometer toll road will serve as another north-south backbone highway that will provide a seamless traffic flow from Naga City up to Danao City.

CCLEC earlier completed the P33 billion Cebu Cordova Expressway, an 8.5 km bridge linking Cebu City with the municipality of Cordova and outlying towns of Cebu province.
