Bobby Ongpin makes Balesin a perfect island getaway: 18-hole golf course coming soon

World-class destination Balesin Island Club, the flagship project of bilyonaryo Roberto “Bobby” Ongpin ’s Alphaland Corp., will soon add another facility that will surely entice more local and international travelers: a golf course.

The planned 18-hole championship layout is part of the Balesin International Gateway development inside the vast 750-hectare property located on the Patnanungan Island in Quezon.

“This is really exciting news especially to those who love Balesin.

When everything is done, golfers will not only have the chance to marvel at the beautiful island but also play golf in a scenic setting,” said Marty Ilagan, project director of the Balesin International Gateway Golf Club.

Ilagan visited the area of the golf course together with contending bidders Bulacan PH Builders, VMJ Group and Pacific Links (Sta. Elena).

“I accompanied them so they could have a vivid picture of where the golf course would be. Hopefully, after the bidding process, and with the approval of Alphaland chairman Roberto V. Ongpin, we will commence with the construction immediately,” Ilagan said.

“The target completion is between 18 and 20 months,” he added.

Aside from the golf course, there will be an international airport as well as hotels, casinos, beach club and villas and a residential development in the pipeline.
