Orchid in Singapore named after Bongbong Marcos and Liza Araneta

A gesture they won’t ever forget.

On their state visit to Singapore, President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta received a priceless gift. The Singapore government named an orchid in honor of the visiting couple, calling it the ‘Dendrobium Ferdinand Louise Marcos.”

The two were deeply grateful for the gesture, exchanging laughs and other pleasantries with the Singapore government.

This has been the tradition of Singapore since 1956, naming orchids after leaders as part of their “Orchid Diplomacy.”

The other Philippine presidents with an orchid named after them include the late Noynoy Aquino, Rodrigo Duterte, and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
