Will Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez soon be part of the elite circle of Manila Polo Club members?
A Bilyonaryo Babbler said Torres Gomez is among the newest batch of applicants to the exclusive Forbes Park enclave. In an interesting move, she listed herself as an executive in three companies instead of declaring she’s a politiko.
The corporate positions which Torres-Gomez listed in her application are: director and stockholder at the BVF Company and MAKFB Specialist, and member and director at Probinsyana Inc. and R.I. Gomez Holdings — the latter named after her actor-politiko husband, Richard Gomez.
Per club rules, one can only be considered for membership if they are referred by at least two current members and endorsed by five other Manila Polo Club members. Existing members are given 30 days to provide feedback on whether they are in favor of granting membership or not.
Torres’ sponsors are Tian Siu Chan, also known as Bench clothing brand owner Ben Chan, and Bryan Lim, another Bench executive.
Referrals, though, aren’t a surefire way to become a Manila Polo Club member. Bilyonaryo and global boxing icon Manny Pacquiao’s application was reportedly rejected by club members.
