Online wallet Maya is trying to capture customers moving out of digital bank ING Philippines by offering a 6-percent interest on deposits.

The e-wallet announced recently that it is extending the high yield on deposits until September 30, from a previous August 31 cutoff to avail of the returns.

Maya is also offering PESONet transfers without transaction fees until end-September plus a P60 welcome reward.

ING, meanwhile, is ending its operations by August 31. It has repeatedly sent notices for customers to move their money out within the month to avoid any hassles.
