Sy-blings choose JoeyCon protege Mon Lopez as new director of SM Investments

Former Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez has found a top corporate gig just a month after ending his six-year stint in government.

SM Investments led by ultra bilyonaryo Tessie Sy elected Lopez as independent director starting August 3.

Midway into his term as Secretary, Lopez was awarded a Presidential Award, Order of Sikatuna, with a rank of Datu by then President Rodrigo Duterte.

Before joining the government, Lopez served as vice president of executive of RFM president and bilyonaryo Joey Concepcion for 22 years.

Lopez has an AB Economics degree at the University of the Philippines in Diliman and a Master in Development Economics at Williams College in Massachusetts.
