Robina Gokongwei taps ex-Pilipinas Shell boss Romero as Robinsons Retail director as Antonio Go exits after 9 years

Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) led by ultra bilyonaryo Robina Gokongwei-Pe is injecting fresh blood into its board of directors.

RRHI has appointed former Pilipinas Shell president and CEO Cesar Romero as new independent director starting August 2.

Romero stepped down from Shell in November 2021 after five years as head of the Anglo-Dutch firm’s local operations. Romero has been assigned a seat on the committees on remuneration and audit and risk oversight.

The 56-year old will take over the seat of bilyonaryo Antonio Go who has reached the term limit on independent directors.

The 80-year old Go, who joined RRHI in 2009, is currently chairman of Equicom Savings Bank and vice-chairman of Maxicare Healthcare.
