More new and old faces have been appointed to lead various offices and agencies under the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Named as DOTr Undersecretary for Administration was Kim Robert de Leon, who topped the 2016 Environmental Planning Licensure Exam and had previously served as Undersecretary at the Department of Budget and Management.
Appointed as Undersecretary for the Maritime Sector was Elmer Francisco Sarmiento, while Timothy John Batan will serve as Undersecretary for Planning and Project Development of the DOTr.
Sarmiento was president and CEO of Royal Cargo, a local specialized logistics solutions provider, where he worked for 37 years.
Batan, on the other hand, served DOTr’s Undersecretary for Railways under the Duterte administration.
The other officials who were appointed are Teofilo Guadiz III as LTO Assistant Secretary, Carlito Castillo as Philippine Ports Authority Assistant General Manager for Engineering, Francisquiel Mancile as PPA Assistant General Manager for Operations, and Hernani Nieves Fabia as administrator of MARINA.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista urged the newly-appointed officials to fulfill President Bongbong Marcos’ marching order to go full speed ahead with the modernization of the country’s transport system.
