President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has retained Philippe Jones Lhuillier as the Philippine Ambassador to Spain, citing his excellent work.
“Batid natin ang galing ni G. Philippe Lhuillier kung kaya’t siya ay muli nating itinalaga sa posisyong Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary para sa bansang Spain,” Marcos Jr. said about the chairman and founder of the Cebuana Lhuillier chain of pawnshops
“Tiyak kong kanyang gagampanan ng buong puso at igugugol ang kanyang husay para sa bansa,” he added.
Lhuillier has long been representing the country abroad, having previously served as ambassador to Italy, San Marino, Albania, and Portugal.
Lhuillier is married to Edna Diago Lhuillier, daughter of a Negrense sugar magnate. The P.J. Lhuillier group is now led by his sons Jean Henri and Philippe Andre.
