Will Popo Lotilla make a return to DOE? Aboitiz Power director added to Marcos’ list of Energy Secretary nominees

Former Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla could have a second tour of duty in the Department of Energy.

A Babbler said Lotilla has been added to the list of names being eyed by President Bongbong Marcos for Energy Secretary.

Lotilla was Energy Secretary from 2005 to 2007 under the Arroyo administration. He also served as president of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation, chairman of Philippine National Oil Co. and Deputy-Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority.

The University of the Philippines College of Law and University of Michigan Law School graduate is currently a director of Aboitiz Power, ACE Enexor, Petron Foundation, and First Metro Investment Corp.

Bilyonaryo.com had previously reported that former Energy Regulatory Commission chairperson Agnes Devanadera, former congressman Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo, Sagip party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, and DOE Undersecretary Donato Marcos were being considered by Marcs for the prime Cabinet post.

The energy portfolio is among the top agencies that have yet to be filled up by Marcos nearly two weeks into his administration The others are Department of Agriculture (which Marcos has temporarily taken over), Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and Department of Health.
