PLDT powers 2 more facilities with solar energy

Telco giant PLDT Inc. is targeting to energize two more of its facilities with solar power as part of its ongoing sustainability journey.

PLDT recently equipped its biggest business facility in the Visayas, located along Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City, with solar rooftop panels.

It is the third PLDT facility in the Visayas to be partly powered by solar energy.

Two more offices in the central Philippine region are set to be equipped with solar panels this month by Meralco subsidiary Spectrum.

The installation of solar panels in its facilities is in line with PLDT’s strategy to cut carbon emissions, reduce energy costs, and further embed sustainability in the business.

“We continue to look for opportunities to install solar rooftop panels in more PLDT and Smart facilities in order to enjoy the same benefits from the current deployments,” PLDT and Smart Communications chief sustainability officer and head of investor relations Melissa Vergel De Dios said.
