The country’s richest man Manny Villar and former president Rodrigo Duterte have been friends for a long time.
Villar took to Instagram to thank the past president of the Philippines for his service to the country.
“I am glad that during the 6 years he occupied the most powerful job in the country, we remained good friends, sharing a meal and some laughs every time we had the chance,” Manny wrote.
Villar commended President Duterte’s six years in office, saying that the country is “in better shape: more secure, more respected in the community of nations, and well-prepared to meet the challenges of the future.”
He’s also just happy that his friend can now relax and “have more time to ride his bike.”
Villar also looks forward to chatting with Duterte more over good dinner and amazing sunsets.
“Maraming salamat, Pangulong Digong! #SalamatPRRD,” Manny said.
