Customers of Tony Tancaktiong’s Jollibee Foods Corp. were saddened in the past few days because the fastfood giant’s best seller Chickenjoy was out of stock.
One Twitter user even jokingly said the shortage of Chickenjoy warrants the declaration of a state of calamity.
“Mag declare na kayo ng state of calamity dito sa south. Walang Chicken Joy sa lahat ng branches,” tweeted Helterskelter@helterskelt3rrr Saturday night.
Helterskeler@helterskelt3rrr tried to get Chickenjoy from Las Pinas and Paranaque.
Mark Hoel Yu tweeted: “Pansin ko nga ito sa food panda nung mga nakaraang araw. Walang chicken joy. Pero ngayon meron na” five hours later.
Another twitter user, D na natuto @derekism suggested it was a supply issue. “Chicken shortage,” he tweeted.
Lil Zenos @SijPerilous and jedah@JAntifona said Cavite also ran out of Chickenjoy.

Apparently, it may have been going on for weeks. “Ilang linggo na yan,” tweeted MsBungisngis @MsNoisyAndrea.
Pogs @jojotesoro was one of the lucky ones. “Naka order ako kanina sa Vista Mall Daang Hari via Food Panda,” he tweeted.
