Expect more new insurance, crypto products from GCash

E-wallet GCash is poised to expand its insrance offerings through GInsure as well as launch a new cryptocurrency product by the second half of the year.

GCash head of new business Neil Trinidad said insurance products for travel, education, life VUL, and cyber protection are targeted to be made available on the platform by the third quarter.

Also to be launched is GInsure for business which will enable and empower MSMEs to avail of insurance for their employees at a fraction of the cost.

“As you know, Filipinos become more and more conscious about the need to purchase insurance. We will continue to make it accessible for all by offering emerging needs,” Trinidad said.

GInsure is a one-stop shop for insurance products that’s easy to understand, has a low premium but comprehensive coverage like personal accidents, medical services, car insurance, income loss, and even online shopping, bills, cars, and pets.

“We are working on our crypto product. We do see that there is a lot of interest in cryptocurrency despite the market being the way that it is today,” Trinidad said.

“The facts show that around four percent of Filipinos have crypto today but more than 50 percent want to consider buying crypto. So we do have a product in developments and that will be available very soon from GCash,” he added.
