Energy Development Corp. (EDC) of the Lopez Group is studying the development of wind projects in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, with a combined capacity of 200 megawatts (MW), according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
The DOE endorsed EDC’s Burgos wind project 3 and 4 with a capacity of 100 MW each to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) for a grid impact study.
EDC already owns a 150 MW wind project located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
The DOE also approved the grid impact study for Aboitiz Power Corp.’s 140MW Calatrava solar project in Negros Occidental as well as SN Aboitiz Power Corp.’s 4 MW Magat battery energy storage system and t40 MW Ambuklao BESS.
Also endorsed was Yuchengco-led PetroEnergy Corp.’s plan to develop a solar facility with a capacity of up to 25 MW iin Bugallon, Pangasinan.
The agency likewise approved SolarAce3 Energy Corp.’s 288 MW power plant in Buguey, Cagayan.
The Lihangin Wind Energy Corp.’s 200 MW wind project in northern Samar and Trustpower Corp.’s 5 MW biogas plant, were also endorsed.
