Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific is adding more flights to its international destinations this month, driven by the continued easing of COVID-19 restrictions for travelers.
The budget carrier has ramped up its flights to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Nagoya, Seoul, Osaka, and Singapore beginning this month.
Flights from Manila to Bangkok now operate up to five times weekly, Kuala Lumpur up to three times weekly, Hanoi up to twice weekly, Ho Chi Minh up to four times weekly, and Osaka up to three times weekly.
Daily flights to Seoul (Incheon) from Manila have also become available.
Cebu Pacific will also increase its flights to Nagoya, Japan to five times weekly starting June 29, while Manila to Singapore frequency will be doubled to twice daily flights by July 1.
For next month, the airline is set to resume its three times weekly flights to Sydney, Australia, as well as its twice weekly flights from Cebu to Seoul (Incheon).
“We are happy to continuously see green shoots related to international travel as more countries open their borders, while others such as Bangkok, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam completely dropped pre-departure COVID-19 tests for fully vaccinated individuals,” Cebu Pacific chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
Lao said Cebu Pacific would continue to boost flight frequencies to enable its passengers to fly easy across its network, especially as demand is picking up.
“We laud the IATF-EID for further simplifying travel requirements for travelers coming into the country. This directive makes it more convenient and more affordable for boosted travelers, both Filipinos and foreigners alike, to come home or rediscover the Philippines,” he said.
Based on a resolution issued by the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), fully vaccinated individuals who received at least one booster shot are exempted from presenting pre-departure COVID-19 test results for entry to the Philippines effective May 30.
