No more guessing: Marcos Jr to unveil economic program in first SONA- Balisacan

With the Cabinet of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. shaping up, his economic team is hard at work fleshing out his vision for the Philippine economy for the next six years.
Returning National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said they’re working on the broad strokes that Marcos has said so far.
“The main elements of the economic programs, they are shaping up. And as you may have already heard from the president, the focus of the efforts in the near term and for the rest of this administration is the creation of jobs, and poverty reduction: addressing many of the issues facing our economy and our society,” the long-time economist told CNN Philippines in an interview.
Balisacan plans to hit the ground running by naming the bottlenecks to project completion, including delayed infrastructure projects. He said these have to be completed “as soon as possible so that we’ll realize the benefits from this project, and also to generate jobs in the near term.”
“We are also looking at various policy and institutional issues and what can be reformed quickly, and what would be eventually also presented to Congress for legislation so that we can open up more opportunities for employment as quickly as possible,” Balisacan added.
“We expect to have a full program when the President gives his State of the Nation Address,” he said, which is set on July 25.
Marcos Jr has said he will continue President Rodrigo Duterte’s “Build, Build, Build” pipeline of priority infrastructure projects as part of his economic agenda.
