The country’s chief financial officers on Wednesday expressed support for the tandem of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte shortly after they were officially proclaimed winners of the May 9 polls.
In a statement, the The Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) congratulated the UniTeam tandem for their victory and said their “policies and actions” will chart the country’s future.
They noted how crucial the new leadership would be as the economy strives to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and loss of jobs.
“Former Senator Marcos and former Mayor Duterte will be assuming their roles at a critical time in our nation’s history,” FINEX said through its president Mike Guarin, currently an advisory partner at KPMG.
“We assure the President and Vice President of our support. We look forward to working with their administration in helping to address the country’s numerous challenges and issues, and in bringing about stability, economic progress, and growth to our country,” they added.
